Running Grandma's

Once again, I ran the Bjorklund half-marathon this year. I was a little worried about my performance - I'd really only been training for 2 weeks prior to the race (most training programs are closer to 14 weeks than 14 days), and my training runs had all been on the order of 10K - about 6 miles, not 13.1.

However, the weather was perfect, and, expecting to crap out around mile 9, I started out going slow, and saved my strength. For the last mile, I found that I had some gas left, and sped up, and managed to maintain a faster pace all the way to the finish; passing a ton of people.

Much to my surprise, I set a personal best, finishing in 2:10:47, for a 10:10 min/mile pace.

Now I need to see if I can get into the TCM 10-miler.
