Bad weather...
In an amusing irony, The Minnesota Daily, the student-run daily paper of the University of Minnesota, today ran an article profiling U of Mn President Bob Bruinicks. A sidebar of the article included the following text:
Former University President Mark Yudof delegated the decision to shut down the University during a winter storm to Bruininks, fearful Minnesotans would never respect the decision of a "weenie" from Texas. During Yudof's five-year term, and his own nearly five-year tenure, Bruininks has never canceled classes because of the weather.
The amusing bit here is the headline of the Daily website today:
University cancels classes and events
We're getting dumped on, for the second time in a week. Really annoying, actually; I'd have loved to get this sort of snow in mid-December, when we could have enjoyed it all winter long. As it is, this'll probably all be gone in 2 weeks.
